South Dakota’s largest city is located in The Heart of America at the junction of I-90 and I-29, and is easily accessible by major airlines offering connections to more than 200 domestic cities including direct flights to several major cities. More than 4,700 guestrooms, a historic downtown and new River Greenway, local cuisine, rich arts and culture, abundant shopping, area wineries and a wide variety of year-round entertainment and attractions await your arrival!

Sioux Falls is named for the Sioux Tribe of American Indians and the waterfalls of the Big Sioux River. Scenic Falls Park encompasses 123 acres along the Big Sioux River and is located in historic downtown Sioux Falls. A triple-waterfall spills an average of 7,400 gallons of water over a 100 foot drop each second. Falls Park is home to a visitor information center, five-story viewing tower, gift shop and café. Falls Park is celebrated for being one of the top 25 parks in the United States by TripAdvisor (June 2013).

Sioux Falls provides groups with state-of-the-art facilities. The Sioux Falls Convention Center offers 100,000 sq. ft. of flexible meeting and exhibit space including a 16,800 sq. ft. ballroom and 12 breakout rooms. The facility offers on-site audiovisual services, staging and an experienced event management and catering staff to ensure the success of your event.

The new Denny Sanford PREMIER Center is scheduled for completion in September 2014. This new multipurpose arena will be adjacent to the current Convention Center and 8,000-seat Arena adding 30,000 sq. ft. of flat floor space for a combined total of 139,000 sq. ft. within the entire complex. Seating for the facility will be 12,000 for basketball, 10,450 for hockey, 13,000 for a concert, 5,750 for rodeo and 180 standard booths for a tradeshow.

The Sioux Falls Convention Center and 8,000-seat Sioux Falls Arena are attached to a 243-room hotel and adjacent to Howard Wood Field, a 10,000- seat track and field, football and soccer stadium, and Sioux Falls Baseball Stadium.

Sioux Falls has 52 hotels with over 1,000 rooms within a one-mile radius of the convention center. Several hotels in the city offer exceptional meeting space for large convention groups.

On behalf of the National Institutes Health (NIH) Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Program Office and SBIR/STTR Community, thank you for being the liaison to the convention center and hotel accommodations for the 15th Annual NIH SBIR/STTR Conference in Sioux Falls, SD.  The conference was a huge success and it was a pleasure to work with you and the SFCVB.  Your coordination of the Sioux Falls Convention Center; Sioux Falls Sheraton Hotel; and the two overflow properties Ramada Hotel & Suites, and the Best Western PLUS Ramkota was a tremendous asset and was a huge factor for NIH to hold our conference in Sioux Falls.

—Matthew E. Portnoy, Ph.D. - NIH SBIR/STTR Program Coordinator
