Happy National Coffee Day to all the coffee lovers reading this!
Dare I say, I have a bit of a coffee addiction. I love it all; lattes, pour-overs, french press, macchiatos...the coffee bean is part of my daily routine.
I tend to travel quite a bit. During these travels I am always looking for the best place to get my morning perk-me-up, cup of Joe.
Here are some great places I have found in my journeys, let me know about your favorite local coffee roaster or coffee house. I would love to visit sometime!
My last trip to Chicago had me wandering about the area to get acquainted with my surroundings. In my ramblings, I happened upon an adorable shop, Alliance Patisserie. To be honest, I was drawn in by the window display of cakes. The staff were charming and the glass cabinet of delights had me in awe. I honestly doubt I could have been wrong with any choice, my coffee and dessert were delicious.
One of my favorite coffee shops in the Minneapolis, MN area is Isle Buns and Coffee. The coffee is fantastic, but the puppy dog tails are beyond words. All of their baked goods are made in house -- and made to feed a growing Viking! A great coffee and a walk around Lake Calhoun is a wonderful way to start your day.
This past spring, I found Arrow Coffee Co. in Manhattan, KS. This location was a great place to get some work done before a meeting. I enjoy breakfast and a pour-over coffee as well. When I began to chat with the staff, I was told that the space hosts gatherings and serves cocktails in the evenings. I wanted to learn more. They worked with me for our Summer 2017 Issue beverage feature: Read it here.
I look forward to visiting more great Midwest coffee shops. Let me know what your favorite local shop or Midwest coffee house is in the comments below!
