The 2015 Governor’s Awards for Innovative Tourism Collaboration were presented at the March Pure Michigan Governor’s Conference on Tourism in Grand Rapids. The awards were presented by the David West of Travel Michigan, representing the Michigan Travel Commission, and the Tourism Industry Coalition of Michigan (TICOM).
The Governor’s Awards for Innovative Tourism Collaboration were created by the Michigan Travel Commission, in conjunction with the Governor’s Office, to elevate the status of Michigan’s tourism industry and to promote innovative collaboration as an effective, efficient and creative operating principle for the industry. The inaugural awards were presented at the 2009 annual Tourism Conference.
Minneapolis’ The Hotel Ivy the only Minnesota hotel to receive prestigious Four Star Award from Forbes Travel Guide
The Hotel Ivy, a Luxury Collection Hotel in downtown Minneapolis has received the prestigious Four Star Award from Forbes Travel Guide in its 2015 ratings. The Hotel Ivy, known for combining classic sophistication and unparalleled service in one of Minneapolis’ true architectural landmark buildings, was recognized by the internationally-respected travel guide as being Minnesota’s most luxurious and inviting hotel property. The Hotel Ivy, the only Four Star winner in the state, has received this recognition for the last five years.

For the second straight year, the DuPage Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) has won an Excellence in Tourism award at the Illinois Governor’s Conference on Travel & Tourism. This year, it was their Meeting Professionals Guide for “Best Sales Collateral.”
Illinois’ Excellence in Tourism awards honor innovative tourism marketing initiatives that promote destinations, attractions and events throughout the state. This year’s awards were presented last Monday evening at a dinner at the Palmer House Hilton hotel in Chicago, where the conference was being held.
