Washington, D.C. – December 17, 2015 – Wyndham Hotel Group contributed $10,000 to the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Foundation (AH&LEF) 2015 Annual Giving Campaign. This is Wyndham’s second gift to AH&LEF’s Annual Giving Fund at the leadership level. Wyndham has been a strong supporter of the Foundation, contributing to AH&LEF’s last two major capitol giving campaigns, the New Century Fund and Hospitality 2000.
”Education is vital to the continuation of our industry. By giving students the means to pursue education and professional development, AH&LEF’s work entices the brightest and most creative minds to enter the field of hospitality,” said Geoff Ballotti, Wyndham Hotel Group president and CEO and member of AH&LEF’s Board of Trustees. “Wyndham Hotel Group is committed to the future of lodging and, thanks to the work of AH&LEF, we look forward to a diverse next generation of hoteliers who have the potential to transform our industry.”
“We are grateful to Wyndham Hotel Group for their continued support funding programs that promote the industry’s future growth,” said AH&LEF President/COO Joori Jeon. “Geoff Ballotti and Wyndham are among the many outstanding industry leaders who understand that their financial contributions ensure the future of lodging, and whose contributions are crucial to providing funding for important research and career development initiatives.”
The Annual Giving Campaign is the Foundation’s key yearly fundraiser supporting its core mission, including providing scholarships to hospitality management students, funding grants for pertinent industry research such as diversity and technology advancement, and promoting hospitality as a career of choice.
With highly recognizable brands and hotel choices in every category from upper-upscale to economy, including Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, Ramada, Days Inn, Super 8, Wingate by Wyndham, Dolce Hotels & Resorts, and Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham, Wyndham Hotel Group offers the most global lodging choices, exceptional customer service, and great value.
AH&LEF is the not-for-profit affiliate of the American Hotel & Lodging Association and is funded solely by charitable donations from progressive hospitality leaders and companies within the industry. In 2015, AH&LEF is disbursing more than $1.2 million to prepare promising college students for a career in hospitality, to attract and retain talented industry professionals, and to fund valuable research for the industry. Since the Foundation’s inception, more than $19 million has been distributed through its scholarship, education, outreach, and research programs.
