Serenity has been with
Midwest Meetings
since Fall 2005, working to capture the issues of importance to the meetings and events industry and share them with planners. She is responsible for the editorial content that is printed in
Midwest Meetings
, as well as the content on
www.MidwestMeetings.com
.
She was previously a member of the South Dakota National Guard, stationed in Madison, SD, where she worked as an administrative personnel clerk. Later she attended South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD and has worked for publication ever since.
Prior to joining
Midwest Meetings
, Serenity spent a year and a half as editor for a two-newspaper chain providing weekly coverage to the Midwest region.
In her spare time, Serenity enjoys reading and writing fiction, maintaining a genre website for writers and keeping up with friends and family. She's also getting a firsthand look at all that goes into event planning, as she's currently preparing for her wedding to be held in Summer 2008.
Q&A with Serenity...
If you could meet any single historical figure, who would you choose and why?
Marilyn Monroe is the most fascinating person to me. We won't go into all the intricacies of her varied, "alleged" ties, so let's just say this: Is there any other individual in history with the mystique of Marilyn?
If you won $1 million, what would you do with it?
I would buy my parents a new house in the country. Then I would buy myself a new house in the country and sit on my front porch every morning and enjoy a free sunrise.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A veterinarian, a firefighter, a lawyer, a social worker, a truck driver, a novelist, a police officer, a zoologist, a figure skater, a teacher, an actress, a rodeo clown, a soldier, a rock star, a realtor, and for a very short time, a ballerina. In no particular order.
