A job fair and wine-themed fundraiser to benefit the Ohio Animal Health Foundation (OAHF) are among the programming additions to the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association’s (OVMA) 2018 Midwest Veterinary Conference (MVC) to convene February 22-25 at the SMG-managed Greater Columbus Convention Center (GCCC).
“New this year is the job fair on Saturday with almost 50 employers and four interview rooms for abbreviated interviews,” said OVMA Communications Director Krysten Bennett. “We are also excited about the wine-tasting fundraiser and the return of the health & wellness track. We’re reminding attendees you have to take care of yourself first so you can take care of animals.”
“We’re at almost 4,500 advance reservations and we may break records this year,” added Bennett.
The OVMA President’s Wine Tasting and Fundraiser for OAHF will be Friday, February 23 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. with OVMA President Tod Beckett welcoming guests at The Venue at Smith Hardware Building.
The MVC Job Fair will be Saturday, February 24 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. with free admission for job seekers.
The MVC Sunday Lunch will be February 25 from 11:45 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. and feature Columbus Humane Executive Director Rachel Finney sharing how to overcome challenges by changing your perspective.
Additional highlights include:
• Veterinary Exploration Conference, Parents’ Workshop and College Fair on Saturday, February 24 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• OVMA Auxiliary Silent Auction
• Connection Corner Networking Lunch
• Student Appreciation Reception
• Exhibits will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on February 22, February 23 and February 24
“MVC is a great example of an event produced by an Ohio-based association with a reach far beyond our state’s boundaries,” said GCCC General Manager John R. Page. “MVC experiences a consistent growth trajectory and is viewed as one of North America’s largest and most highly regarded veterinary conferences.”
OVMA represents more than 2,400 veterinarians and provides them with opportunities to learn, discover and engage throughout their careers.
