Tens of thousands of pop culture and super hero fans are expected to gather August 4-6 for Wizard World Comic Con Columbus, Ohio’s longest-running and best-attended comic convention.
“We are excited to be making our seventh visit to Columbus, bringing new celebrities, new entertainment options and some of the most talented creators in the business, celebrating the world of pop culture,” said Jerry Milani, Wizard World public relations manager.
The event will feature movies, television, gaming, live entertainment, comics, cosplay, sci-fi, graphic novels, toys, original art, collectibles, contests and more.
Programming ranges from Q&A sessions with celebrities and creators, sci-fi speed-dating sessions and ninja training with Ohio turtle fans & superheroes to costume contests for kids and adults. Local cartoonist and Bone creator Jeff Smith will be inducted into the Wizard World Hall of Legends on August 4 at 7 p.m. during the non-stop entertainment stage scheduled activities.
Show hours will be:
• Friday, August 4 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
• Saturday, August 5 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
• Sunday, August 6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
There are a variety of admission prices. Up to two children age 10 and under are admitted free when accompanied by an adult paying admission. Guests save $5 by ordering admission in advance at http://wizardworld.com/comiccon/columbus.
Admission charges are:
• Friday, August 4: $39.95 in advance and $50 at the show
• Saturday, August 5: $49.95 in advance and $60 at the show
• Sunday, August 6: $44.95 in advance and $55 at the show
• Three-Day Weekend Admission: $79.95 in advance and $90 at the show
Additional charges apply to obtain selected celebrity autographs.
Following the action in the exhibit halls, there will be the Wizard World Drink ‘n Draw and Nerd-themed Trivia from 9:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. at b.d.’s Mongolian Grill on Friday, August 4, and the Wizard World Official Costume After-Party on Saturday, August 5 from 10 p.m. to midnight at the Crowne Plaza Columbus.
