Society of American Travel Writers chooses Brew City in 2020
On the heels of the Democratic National Convention and Ryder Cup, Milwaukee will play host to the largest travel writer convention in the world, the Society of American Travel Writers (SATW). The event, October 11-15, 2020, will bring 300 of the most prestigious travel journalists to the state as part of its annual convention.

Studebaker owners from across North America and beyond will bring their classic cars to Mansfield for a week of history, fun, bragging rights and comradery. Throughout the event, members show their vehicles, share information and memories and participate in concours judging.
Chicago-based Bottleneck Management announces the forthcoming opening of City Works at 365 W. Dundee Rd. in Wheeling. Slated to open to the public on August 19, this will be the second location of City Works in Illinois, following the first which opened in Schaumburg in February. There are seven additional locations of the eatery and pour house throughout the country. The restaurant invites the public in to get a sneak peek at its “First Draft” soft opening charity event on Saturday, August 17 with 100% of proceeds benefiting Scholarship Assistance Fund Dollars for Scholars.

Organizers of “The Shawshank Redemption” 25th Anniversary Celebration announced that director, screenwriter and producer Frank Darabont will take part in the Aug. 16-18 events in Mansfield, OH. Darabont will join panel discussions about the film and sign autographs for fans. Acclaimed for his film adaptations of Stephen King novellas, Darabont both directed and wrote the screenplay for “The Shawshank Redemption,” which was released in 1994 and filmed in and around Mansfield. Most of the 16 filming sites along The Shawshank Trail will offer events, tours and panel discussions throughout the weekend, though The Shawshank Trail welcomes visitors to Mansfield year round.
