by JAMES FARRELL The Dodge County Board of Supervisors approved $35,000 in funding to help repair a broken layer on the northern wall of the Fremont Opera House. The money comes from the Fremont and Dodge County Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) Visitor Improvement Funds. An outer layer of a five-layer brick wall on the northern side of the historic 130-year-old building crumbled back in April. Opera House Manager Chris Bristol has said that, despite the damage, the overall integrity of the building is still in tact, and that a structural engineer has visited the site and said as much.
