by SARAH HAYDEN The Quad Cities Convention and Visitors Bureau would like area hotels to charge guests a destination fee to provide money for tourism marketing. Bureau president and CEO Joe Taylor said the destination marketing fee is already being used in other communities with success, enabling those cities to draw in more visitors and revenue as a result. Mr. Taylor hosted a panel discussion Thursday morning at the TaxSlayer Center in Moline, gathering input from other visitor bureaus, hotel managers, and members of the hospitality industry on what the fees would mean to their communities.
