Next Monday’s total solar eclipse could have a significant economic impact on Columbia, if the weather is clear that day.
The Columbia Convention and Visitor’s Bureau is estimating the city’s population of about 120,000 could double during the eclipse on Aug. 21.
Columbia is one of Missouri’s cities in the path of totality and therefore a prime viewing spot for visitors from afar.
