USA Triathlon, in partnership with Toyota and the City of Milwaukee, announced that Milwaukee has been selected to host the 2020 and 2021 Toyota USA Triathlon Age Group National Championships with the 2020 event set for Aug. 7-9. USA Triathlon also announced that beginning in 2020, the Age Group Nationals sprint-distance race, which previously did not require qualification, will now be qualification-based. Special qualification opportunities for both the sprint- and Olympic-distance events are available for participants at the 2019 Toyota USA Triathlon Age Group National Championships in Cleveland.
VISIT Milwaukee announced today that Paul Upchurch has informed the Board of Directors of his resignation as the president and CEO. Upchurch has led the organization for more than nine years. During Upchurch’s tenure, tourism spending doubled from $1.6 billion in 2011 to $3.2 billion in 2018, and Upchurch recently assisted the DNC Host Committee in securing the DNC 2020 bid.
The Midwest Gaming Classic, one of the largest all-encompassing gaming trade shows in the country, returns to southeast Wisconsin at the Wisconsin Center on April 13 and 14. This trade show is open to the general public, and guests can play thousands of games of all types with the price of admission.
The facility, which remains under construction, will be called Community First Champion Center Fox Cities.
