Madison, Wisconsin has been named a top meeting destination by SmartAsset.com. SmartAsset compiles an annual list of the Best Cities for Conferences each year. This year, Madison ranked 20th on the list.
Deb Archer, President and CEO of the Greater Madison Convention & Visitors Bureau was excited by the news. “This is a wonderful nod about an important element of our work and key contributor to the visitor economy. This confirms and validates what so many of our satisfied customers have expressed to us-- that Madison is a great place to meet and host events,” she said.
“The data points that SmartAsset studied is what gives this ranking real credence in the marketplace,” said Archer. “The nuts and bolts of winning a bid very much focuses on the attributes that they considered,” she added.
“It is great to see more recognition for the many benefits our City provides to visitors and conventioneers. It is especially telling that of the top 20 cities listed, Madison appears to be the only mid-market, Midwest city,” said Madison Mayor Paul Soglin. “We faced some pretty stiff competition and scored exceptionally well.”
