Spiaggia (980 North Michigan Avenue, 2nd floor), Chicago's only four-star Italian restaurant, and chef/partner Tony Mantuano are pleased to announce the debut of Sala Privata, the brand new private events space adjacent to its iconic dining room. Sala Privata, Italian for "private room," welcomes guests in groups of 6 to 20 for private dining, birthday celebrations, anniversaries, corporate gatherings and rehearsal dinners. The space, which previously served as a lounge area, is connected to Spiaggia's main dining room and offers views of Chicago's iconic Oak Street and Michigan Avenue. |
"We've always been proud to offer a home for any type of celebration at Spiaggia, and we are thrilled to open the doors to another private dining space," said Mantuano. "We look forward to offering our guests a new way to host memorable experiences at Spiaggia."
Spiaggia's Private Events team, led by Marlee Schuster and Erica Poppe, is always on hand to help customize any event, allowing guests the opportunity to personalize any activity. Interactive classes, such as olive oil and balsamic tastings, craft cocktail making, cooking demonstrations, wine tastings and more can be added on to any experience, sharing the same thoughtful and elegant approach that has made Spiaggia a longstanding culinary destination.
The menus, designed by Chef/Partner Tony Mantuano and Chef de Cuisine Joe Flamm, draw inspiration from both Spiaggia and its sister restaurant, Café Spiaggia. Guests can choose between an a la carte menu and a tasting menu, with optional wine pairings created by nationally-renowned Sommelier and Beverage Director Rachael Lowe. All food is prepared in-house, showcasing authentic, humble ingredients and creating an intimate restaurant experience within the event space.

About Spiaggia:
As the only four-star Italian restaurant in Chicago, Spiaggia has become synonymous with celebrations. It was a vision realized 30 years ago when owner Larry Levy founded Spiaggia to be the crown jewel at 980 N. Michigan Ave. Over the years, Spiaggia has become a "must dine" destination for locals and visitors alike. The Hollywood elite, the biggest marquee musicians and the most renowned luminaries, from presidents to international leaders, have dined at Spiaggia. The cuisine, innovative yet mindful of tradition, an equally splendid wine list and precise service have paved the way for numerous accolades and a dedicated following from one generation to the next. Celebrating its third decade, Spiaggia continues to evolve and modernize. The views of Lake Michigan still provide a setting unlike any other. In 2014, a complete redesign of the dining room and bar and the addition of the Spiaggia lounge united Spiaggia's storied past with its modern present.
