• All-in-one venues
• Amenities for non-gamblers
The way people spend their free time, and allocate their recreation and entertainment budget, is changing. Traditional activities, like casino gambling, face increasing competition from new gaming establishments but also from online and mobile services.
As the casino industry explores new types of games to entice players, casinos are increasing efforts to be seen as entertainment destinations. Planners are wise to tap into this idea of ‘destination’ while using all angles available to create truly unique attendee experiences.
Being described as a ‘destination’ is key.
While casino resorts have amenities in spades, some have aces up their sleeves, so to speak.
In the midst of healing waters and historic architecture you’ll find French Lick Resort, the combination of French Lick Springs Hotel, French Lick Casino, and West Baden Springs Hotel. These Indiana locations have been a getaway destination for more than 100 years. With the addition of the casino, these properties continue to intrigue attendees.
Entertainment and Space
From live music to relaxation lounges, groups have many options for creating lasting memories in St. Louis. “Lumiére Live is the hidden gem of St. Louis,” expressed Johnny Lewis, Hotel Sales Manager, HoteLumiére and Casino. The theater attracts some of the biggest names and is able to house premiere events with the ability to customize lighting and room setup for a groups’ specific needs.
DJs and musical groups are lined up every weekend at French Lick’s Casino Lounge. Enjoy great entertainment, fine dining, and when in the West Baden Spring Hotel make ample time to truly appreciate the awe-inspiring atrium.
Slots, table games, and high stakes poker can all be found in the French Lick Casino. Staying up-to-date on the latest in slots play, guests find the game floor to be comfortable and open.
Do you have attendees new to gaming? “We are happy to work hand-in-hand to setup private poker tournaments, blackjack tournaments, instructional demonstrations, and offer casino chips in welcome bags for guests,” explained Chloe Caylor, Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis.
Those looking to be entertained in other ways will find “the spa is a fantastic amenity,” according to Caylor, “[it is] also a highlight for breaks during a long day of meetings. With this benefit we can set up customized services where spa therapists come to the meeting and offer paraffin hand treatments, shoulder massages, or a quick aroma therapy pick-me-up.” Groups also have the option to sign up for cooking classes or enjoy yoga on the Sky Terrace, for other on-property entertainment features.
French Lick Resort grants guests old world luxury and European elegance, which flows into their spa. Whether a ladies get away or a post-golf massage, attendees will embrace the added treat and relaxing atmosphere with head-to-toe rejuvenation options.
French Lick Resort recently opened a sporting clay range for groups to enjoy. Twelve shooting stations are positioned thoughout the hilly terrain providing shooters the challenge of different angles, speeds, distances, elevations, and trajectories when field shooting. Beyond the expansive golfing experiences found here, families enjoy games of FootGolf as well.
Just Outside the Doors
The French Lick Resort Trolley runs 365 days a year, transporting guests between French Lick Springs Hotel, French Lick Casino, and West Baden Spring Hotel. Riders see many sights along the route. French Lick Resort offers historical scavenger hunts which are both fun and educational and no matter your groups speed, French Lick has a mode of activity for everyone. Hiking, biking, carriage rides, and horseback riding are all just outside the doors.
With the revitalization of downtown St. Louis, entertainment off property is only minutes away. The hotels are a seven minute walk to The Arch grounds, with many more dining and entertainment options to be found along the Riverfront. Groups will discover an abundance of museums, art galleries, theaters, sporting events, and gourmet restaurants all able to be debuted as part of a ‘total package’ experience.
As ‘experiential’ continues as a meetings and events buzzword, casinos rise to the potential of creating destination experiences for groups of all kinds. Bet on great experiences, great breaks, and roll the dice on trying new combinations of activities to make your event truly one-of-a-kind.
