I’d like you to imagine a three-legged tripod. Now picture one with two-legs. Now envision one with only one leg. Chances are, when picturing the two legged one, you paused a moment as it couldn’t stand up; it was close, but an essential piece was missing. Was trying to envision a tripod with one leg almost impossible? Did it strike you as a bit ridiculous?
I consider a tripod a metaphor for events. Event Strategists represent one leg, marketing teams another, and sales the third. Events are the platform that sit atop the three legs. With all parts in place and equal, the tripod is solid, functioning, and stable. When one leg is off balance or missing, the integrity of the entire piece is affected.
