Building relationships goes hand in hand with meeting and event planning, sometimes we rely on our peers and planning committees to get us through the most detailed logistics of our careers.
Laura Prellwitz, former President and Social Chair of the Fox Valley Region Porsche Club, made mention in Revved Up Attendance that having a great planning committee is key to event success.
Here are her 5 tips for putting together a great planning committee:
2. Invite people who are focused on the event, committed to working with one another, and share your same passion and vision of what the final outcome will look like.
3. Invite members who are able to honestly and respectfully communicate ideas and follow through on their responsibilities in a timely manner.
4. Have long range and short-term goals, with specific completion dates. Schedule regular meetings with specific agendas to monitor task completion. Share agendas and after-meeting minutes in a timely manner.
5. If someone is hindering the group, the coordinator needs to respectfully ask that member to leave for the best interest of the group and event as a whole.
