Scarlett Hotel Group recently announced its purchase of the Best Western Premier Waterfront Hotel & Convention Center located in downtown Oshkosh, just a mile from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. The firm plans to begin a major renovation this fall, but will continue service for visitors and events. Scarlett Hotel Group will also manage the Oshkosh Convention Center, which is owned by the city.

The Best Western Premier Waterfront Hotel & Convention Center has served locals and guests, and hosted a range of events in Oshkosh for more than 35 years. The property includes: 176 guest rooms, 5,600 square feet of meeting and event space in the hotel, 19,000 square feet of flexible meeting space in the convention center, an on-site restaurant and catering services, and both lake- and river-front views.

David Helgeson, a longtime Wisconsin resident, will remain as the general manager. “I’m proud to have been with the Best Western Premier Waterfront Hotel & Convention Center for more than 10 years now,” says Helgeson, who served as the director of sales at the property before being promoted to general manager. “We have a strong team that’s dedicated to this community, whether it’s putting on the perfect wedding by the lake or serving the hundreds of thousands of visitors who come to Oshkosh each year.”
