Jorge Avellan of WEMU 89.1 in Eastern Michigan talked about the Ann Arbor Film Festival in a recent article on their website. The film festival has been running for 54 years and is the longest running independent experimental film festival in North America. International films are submitted from over 70 countries an this brings in a great deal of tourism when the festival finally rolls around. According to Avellan, "In Washtenaw County, 7,782 full-time jobs are completely supported by the tourism industry, and $824 million come from visitor spending." Read More from WEMU |
