One Book Two Book (February) - This festival celebrates children’s literature and the educators, authors, illustrators and librarians who support it.
FlyOver Fashion Fest (May) - This two-day festival is dedicated to showcasing Iowa’s top fashion, design and creative talent through runway events, performances and presentations.
Friday Night Concert Series (Summer) - This Iowa City tradition features a free performance by a local or regional musical group in the downtown pedestrian plaza.
Iowa City Jazz Festival (July) - Named one of the nation’s top 10 jazz festivals by Downbeat Magazine, regional and local musicians play on the main stage and three side stages for this free festival.
North Liberty Blues & BBQ (July) - This free family-friendly event features live, regional blues music all day long, with a beverage garden for the adults and kids activities for youth.
Taste of Iowa City (August) - Taste is the city’s premiere outdoor food festival showcasing tastes of downtown Iowa City’s local restaurants, who set up just outside their doors.
Northside Oktoberfest (September) - The oldest beer festival in the state of Iowa, this event features 60+ brewers from all over the U.S. and 400+ beers for sampling.
Iowa City Book Festival (October) - A celebration of books, reading and writing, the festival is filled with booksellers, author readings, panel discussions, book fair and children’s activities.
Holiday Thieves Market (December) - this market features 100+ artists from the Midwest and beyond exhibiting and selling artwork in painting, ceramics, photography, woodworking, jewelry, fiber and other mediums.
