The general public is invited to share through social media where in the world the Arnold Schwarzenegger bronze statue is while on vacation from the Arnold Plaza located on High Street in front of the SMG-managed Greater Columbus Convention Center (GCCC).
Due to construction related to the facility’s $125 million expansion and renovation to be completed in July 2017, the statue was temporarily removed and is in safe storage.
Could Arnold be seeing the sites in Columbus or roaming Rome instead?
In a blend of “Where’s Waldo?” meets the Flat Stanley Project, guests can visit the GCCC social media sites (Facebook.com/ColumbusConventions;Twitter.com/CBusConventions; Instagram.com/CBusConventions), obtain the photo of the Arnold statue, include it in a selfie and add the hashtag #GCCCArnoldWillBeBack.
An Arnold “bingo” scavenger hunt is also part of the fun. Guests locating the Arnold stickers at the GCCC and posting selfies with all of them will be entered in a drawing to win prizes, including tickets for the next Arnold Sports Festival in March 2017.

“The Arnold Sports Festival is our most highly attended event during the year, and the Arnold statue has become a favorite meeting spot in its own accord,” said John R. Page, GCCC general manager. “We invite everyone to join the fun by striking a pose with ‘Flat Arnold’ wherever he is discovered visiting in Columbus and beyond, and then sharing photos on social media.”
