One of the trends we have seen in recent years is that of “what’s old is new again” –the jumpsuit of the 70's has made a resurgence from the runway to middle-America, the “in-person business meeting,” for a few years considered a thing of the past is back and still considered the best way to close a deal, and leveraging social networks– by everyone from direct sellers to gig to sharing economy participants – is occurring in modern and progressive ways. Direct sellers specifically have been leveraging their social networks for decades.
Direct selling companies have been around for decades, providing opportunities for individuals to start their own business on a smaller, flexible, and more manageable scale.
