A look at the world of sports today will show you there are thousands of sports in existence, from traditional baseball, basketball, and football to running, cycling, kubb, archery and everything in between. With each of these sports comes the need for tournaments and championships.
Planning a sporting event, of any kind, is a whole different ballgame (pun intended!). There are details that you must take in to consideration that you wouldn’t normally encounter when planning a meeting or other corporate event. For instance, a sporting event may require a greater need for emergency medical response personnel, you’ll most likely have to arrange for more restroom facilities, there’s possible road closures and daily field preparation, the list goes on and on.
There are CVBs and Sports Commissions across the Midwest that are ready, willing, and able to work with you to find the right venue for your event and to help you put all the other pieces together, from securing volunteers to helping market your event to the area.
If you plan a unique sporting event or if you’ve learned some lessons along the way that would benefit other sports planners, we’d love to share your story. Contact Editor@MidwestMeetings.com today!
