
The Meeting Professionals International (MPI) Foundation has set a new record, raising more than $335,000 during IMEX America in Las Vegas this week. The money was generated from an industry leaders wine auction as well as through ticket sales, bungalow and cabana sponsorships and the support of host sponsors Caesars Entertainment and the IMEX Group for Rendezvous, the IMEX America Night.
Rendezvous had more than 2,000 people in attendance – an increase of 25 percent over last year. In comparison, last year the foundation raised more than $190,000 from Rendezvous ticket sales and there were more than 1,600 people in attendance. Note, the MPI Foundation did not host the wine auction or offer cabana and bungalow sponsorships during IMEX America last year.
The MPI Foundation Wine Auction was held the evening of October 11th at The Wheelhouse at The LINQ, and was an invitation-only event for MPI and MPI Foundation leaders and volunteers. Rendezvous, the IMEX America Night was held on Wednesday evening, October 14th, at Drai’s, a lavish indoor and outdoor club located on the rooftop of The Cromwell, a Caesars Entertainment property. Funds raised from both events will be invested in scholarships, grants and pan-industry research – all of which help secure the future success of the meeting and event industry.
