SPIN:Senior Planners Industry Network CEO Shawna Suckow announces the retirement of Executive Director Rod Abraham effective June 30, 2017. “During Rod’s year with us, he launched initiatives ranging from infra-structure to policy matters to creating broader awareness of SPIN throughout our industry, said Suckow. “He has been passionate in his efforts to expand services to our members who are independent business owners. While we will be sad to see him go we wish him well in his next chapter.”
A long-time industry veteran, Abraham’s career began as an insurance industry association executive before he launched one of the industry’s early meeting management companies that provided thousands of job opportunities for planners who were a member of his network. He came out of retirement last year to assist Suckow with the leadership of SPIN.
According to Abraham, “The time was right to retire. Last December I celebrated my 80th birthday and realized there are so many things that I still wish to do – especially with my family being the proud father of four and grandfather of four. Professionally, I hope to continue to help SPIN in some capacity.”
No plans have been announced yet as to Abraham’s replacement.
