Katie Fencl, CSEE, Director of Conventions, Sports & Services at Catch Des Moines, has been named a 2018 “Forty Under 40” honoree by the Business Record – a Greater Des Moines weekly business publication. Chosen by past winners, 40 local business leaders under the age of 40 are selected for their career achievements and community involvement. Fencl was nominated and selected for the award due to her leadership in and out of the office and for her significant contributions to the tourism industry.
Katie Stien, National Sales Manager for Catch Des Moines, has been named a 2017 “Forty Under 40” honoree by Association Forum and USAE Magazine. Forty Under 40 awards are given annually to 40 accomplished association or non-profit professionals who are under the age of 40 and demonstrate high potential for continued success in leadership roles and exhibit a strong passion for, and commitment to, the association management and nonprofit industries. Stien was nominated and selected for the award for her leadership in growing the tourism industry in Greater Des Moines and the State of Iowa. Stien has been with Catch Des Moines since 2009.

Forty Under 40 awards are given annually to 40 local business leaders, under the age of 40, for their career achievements and community involvement. Flack was nominated and selected for the award for her significant contributions in the tourism industry both in and out of the office. Flack has been with the bureau since 2008.

DES MOINES, IA – The Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau and Des Moines Area Sports Commission recognized 14 local individuals and businesses for their commitment to tourism and the community. Recipients were awarded for their efforts at last night’s Annual Celebration, an event that celebrates Greater Des Moines’ tourism successes and those who help make them happen.
Of the 14 awards, 11 were presented to those who demonstrated strong community leadership, volunteerism and hospitality from July 2014 to June 2015. The additional three were voted on by visitors via an online survey. The following individuals and businesses received an award:
