Darin L. Krueger, Executive Director of the Williston Parks and Recreation District (WPRD) was recently presented with the North Dakota Recreation and Parks Association’s (NDRPA) “Distinguished Professional Award” at the Annual NDRPA awards banquet in Dickinson on September 12th. The award recognizes members of the NDRPA who exhibit leadership skills and achieve significant accomplishments through their Parks and Recreation involvement locally, statewide and nationally. Since taking over as Director in 2006 the Williston Parks and Recreation District has been recognized for many achievements including; National Recreation and Parks Association Gold Medal Finalist Awards (2015, 2018), Williston Area Recreation Center (multiple awards including the NDRPA Golden Egg ), hosted 2 Babe Ruth World Series (2013, 2016), built the Community Builders Playground (NDRPA Golden Egg) and Tom & Shirley Davidson Tennis Complex (NDRPA Golden Egg) thru partnerships, as well as multiple innovative programming and citizen advocacy awards. Krueger stated: “This award is for me and my teammates at WPRD, including past and present staff and park board commissioners, as well as the entire Williston Community. Working together we have achieved great things for everyone that lives and visits here! I can’t wait to see what the future holds for WPRD and Williston!” |
