The Charmant Hotel (101 State St.), an upscale, independent property managed by Chicago-based Aparium Hotel Group, received the esteemed AAA Four Diamond Rating. After opening on September 15, 2015, this is the first time The Charmant Hotel has attained this celebrated rating.
Hotels at this level are committed to providing every guest with a personalized experience and attentive service in comfortable, high-quality surroundings, according to AAA. They typically offer an extensive array of amenities and guest services.
“We are honored to receive this recognition acknowledging our staff’s dedication to exceeding guest expectations,” General Manager Sean Castady says. “We are proud to be recognized as a AAA Four Diamond hotel and are committed to providing a premier travel experience devoted to showcasing the thriving local La Crosse community.”
“AAA is pleased to recognize The Charmant Hotel as a Four Diamond hotel,” Director of AAA Inspections & Diamond Ratings Michael Petrone says. “To maintain the exceptional standards required for this rating on a daily basis is an outstanding achievement. AAA Four Diamond establishments are attentive to guests needs and consistently deliver memorable travel and dining experiences.”
The Charmant Hotel is the restoration of the 107-year-old former Joseph B. Funke candy company in the heart of historic downtown La Crosse, WI. The hotel is owned by Don, Roxy, and Nick Weber of Weber Holdings and managed by hospitality veterans Kevin Robinson and Mario Tricoci of Aparium Hotel Group, leading the programming and positioning of the hotel. The Charmant Hotel brings to life Aparium’s “translocal” hospitality philosophy, where great hotels are a destination sought out by travelers and a favorite place for locals.
The 67-room, upscale lifestyle property is the first of its kind in La Crosse, with premium guestrooms, a range of inviting food and beverage options, accommodation for special events and meetings, and plenty of space to simply sit and enjoy the city’s newest “old” gem.
Charmant, which translates to “charming” in French, is also a nod to the name of a premium line of chocolates produced by the resident candy company. The dual meaning reflects the hotel’s enchanting appeal and the team’s dedication to preserving the historic building’s heritage.
