The Indiana Tourism Association awarded Visit Hendricks County with a Best Visitor Guide honor during last week’s Indiana Tourism Awards presented by Midwest Living in Clarksville, Ind.
The Best Visitor Guide Award (Among Marketing Budgets over $300,000) honors the best digital or printed guide statewide. Visit Hendricks County completely redesigned its Visitor Guide in 2017 to a 34-page, full-color magazine that more than doubled its size and packed in amazing imagery and unmatched local content describing the best places to shop, eat and enjoy in Hendricks County.
The out-of-state judges liked the guide’s clean design and blog-style content. “One loved how Visit Hendricks County wanted to reinvent their guide and appreciated the fact that they got creative and did their research.”
The Best Visitor Guide award was one of nine handed out at the Indiana Tourism Conference. Visit Hendricks County beat out two other nominees in that category.
“It’s an honor to be recognized for the consistently creative pieces that our marketing team develops,” said Visit Hendricks County Executive Director Jaime Bohler Smith. “The Visitors Guide is our primary piece of printed material, and the changes we made have only enhanced the visitor spending in the county by showcasing our assets in a positive light with better photography and better stories.”
