DoubleTree Convention Center set to open in 2018

The Fairfield Inn & Suites, in Springfield, MO, will have 103 rooms and some smaller meeting spaces.

The new convention center will be 10,000 square feet and will have seating capacity for 500, banquet-style. This triples the seating capacity and doubles the square footage of the current ballroom located at the facility, which will remain open even after the center is completed. There will also be a 200-spot parking garage constructed on site for the use of the hotel and convention center complex guests.

Global Spectrum, operators of the Saint Charles Convention Center, recorded the highest grossing first quarter in the 10-year history of the facility.

This tremendous accomplishment is hot on the heels of the record-breaking, highest grossing year (2014) ever at the Saint Charles Convention Center.

“We just hosted the largest convention in our history earlier this month," said Global Spectrum’s Shura Garnett, General Manager and Regional Vice President. "We expect another outstanding year here in St. Charles, as we're on pace to exceed last year's record-setter."

This month the St. Charles Convention Center, celebrates 10 years since it opened its doors in 2005. Proudly managed by Global Spectrum for the entirety of its existence, the Convention Center continues to exceed expectations as one of the finest, full-service convention venues in the Greater St. Louis metro area.

Over 2.2 million people have attended events hosted at the facility and over 3,500 events have been hosted since its opening in 2005. With the collaboration of the City of St. Charles, St. Charles County Convention & Sports Authority, and St. Charles Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Convention Center continues to achieve goals and break records year over year.
