 For over 120 years, the World’s Only Corn Palace has attracted the unusual, the notable, and the road-weary. Recently, this whimsical building underwent a royal transformation! In addition to the annual redecorating, parts of the Palace went under corn-struction as part of a $4 million renovation, including new ear-chitecture, new interactive exhibits, and a new, welcoming design giving both first-time and past visitors an a-maize-ing new experience! The theme of the 2016 murals is “Rock of Ages”.
The remodel of the Corn Palace features larger exterior murals, a new sign, custom-designed light-up domes, and a walk-out balcony – and that’s just on the outside! On the interior, visitors will be greeted with a new grand entry and lobby and a redesigned box office. For the first time in decades, guests are also invited to the second floor of the Palace where they will find a beautiful Oscar Howe exhibit space and access to the outdoor balcony. www.cornpalace.com  The Swiftel Center was awarded the 2015 Venue Excellence Award by the International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM) at the Venue Industry Awards Luncheon in Baltimore earlier this month. This is the highest award in the venue industry given by IAVM, which is the world's largest professional association dedicated tot he management of public assembly venues.
