ST. CHARLES, IL — Meeting and Event planners from around the Midwest and East coast are about to become very familiar with the St. Charles area as the Greater St. Charles Convention and Visitors Bureau hosts a familiarization tour this Thursday, April 14 and Friday, April 15. Organized by Sales Managers Nick Bacik and Michelle Cianferri, this two-day “Fam," entitled “S.T.E.P.," will engage event planners in a variety of activities such as a classic car tour, and a hands on cooking activity. “The objective of the two day familiarization tour is to increase economic growth in the community by encouraging these qualified planners, who are not familiar with St. Charles, to consider Greater St. Charles venues for future meetings and events,” said Wagner.
With motor coach trip, corporate meeting, and association meeting planners slated to participate in the tour, Wagner is pleased with the positive response to the Bureau’s “S.T.E.P.” invitation.
“Our staff is looking forward to spending time with these meeting professionals and introducing them to some of the what a unique spaces in Greater St. Charles,” she said.
The Greater St. Charles Convention and Visitors Bureau is funded by a portion of the hotel/motel tax collected by St. Charles hotels and by the Illinois Office of Tourism for the purpose of promoting Greater St. Charles as a destination for leisure tourists and meetings and conventions, sports events, and motor coach trips.
