Painted Woods Sporting Range is hosting the National Sporting Clays Association (NSCA) North Dakota State Sporting Clays and the North Dakota 5 Stand Tournament July 28-30 west of Williston.
Painted Woods features a sporting clay course, 5-stand clay field, a variety of gun ranges and archery targets in a setting of rolling hills, steep cut banks and spring fed creeks.
This is the first time the event has been in Williston. “We haven’t had a facility capable of hosting a state tournament for sporting clays,” commented Visit Williston Director Amy Krueger. “It’s exciting to have this type of activity in town.”
Competitors are encouraged to register in advance by contacting the range manager and event host, Jimmy Jones, at 701-770-5271 or office @paintedwoodssportingrange.com. Competitors need to bring their own guns and can use their shells, although shells will be available for purchase at the range. Competitors are welcome to bring their own golf carts, if they desire.
