As a proud supporter of Fierce Freedom, Visit Eau Claire is excited to help promote the premiere Wisconsin screening of “I Am Jane Doe,” in downtown Eau Claire on Tuesday, May 23rd. This screening will be held at the State Theater and will be among the first to be shown in the United States. The documentary depicts the realities of child-trafficking and has received global acclaim. |
A speaker panel will take place following the film and will include Dara Reppucci and Jessica Soto, attorneys for the Boston based law firm Ropes & Gray, who represent mothers suing the government in a case that has the potential to reach the supreme court. Additional panel members include; Julie Pfluger, Assistant United States Attorney; Fredi Ellen-Bove, Administrator, Division of Safety and Permanence at the Department of Children and Families; Lt Ryan Dahlgren, Eau Claire Police Department; Ashley Nishke, Clinical Manager, Transitions Group Home; and Jodi Emerson, Director of Public Policy and Community Relations, Fierce Freedom.
Fierce Freedom is an Eau Claire based nonprofit that partners with organizations such as Visit Eau Claire as well as area hotels and the Eau Claire police department to take a stand against human trafficking and ensure an educated community on the matter.
The documentary will be shown on Tuesday, May 23 at 7 PM at the State Theatre. Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased in advance at www.eauclairearts.com.
