Quad Cities – Take advantage of the warm weather, and rent a bicycle to explore the riverfront trails in the Quad Cities area.
The Quad Cities Convention & Visitors Bureau (QCCVB) has now started its 14th season of bicycle rentals. Bicycles can be rented from the Visitor Center at Union Station, 102 S. Harrison in downtown Davenport, Iowa; and the Visitor Center & Gift Shop, 1601 River Drive in downtown Moline, Illinois. These centers are both located right on the bike paths.
Bikes can be rented by the hour or by the day. Fees are: $8.00 hourly, $28 half-day, $40 full-day. Different sizes and kids’ bikes are available and each rental comes with a helmet, lock, and a bottle of water. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
There are many trails to choose from, such as the 60-mile long Great River Trail in Illinois or the 10.5 mile-long Duck Creek Trail in Iowa. Biking around the Quad Cities is a great way to become associated with venues in the area or just to see the beautiful scenery.
Discover these and many more marvels on the Mississippi River in the Quad Cities. Contact the Quad Cities Convention & Visitors Bureau at 800-747-7800 or visit their website at www.visitquadcities.com.
