Located in the heart of Topeka, KS, the Cyrus Hotel opened earlier this year. The 109 guestrooms and suites offer luxurious amenities with Midwest charm, with close proximity to the Kansas State Capitol Visitor Center, Topeka Performing Arts Center, the Charles Curtis House Museum, and so much more. Groups will feel the lively energy of the city around them when they meet and stay along Topeka’s picturesque main street.
Vanguard Ballroom
Cyrus Hotel is home to three dedicated event spaces; a boardroom and two distinct ballrooms, which are adjoined by a spacious pre-function lobby. The larger ballroom, Cyrus, is over 3,600 sq. ft. and boasts two 700lb., hand-pieced chandeliers. The 1,400-sq.- ft. Vanguard ballroom is right on Kansas Avenue, so guests utilizing the space can enjoy the view or employ curtains to create a private experience. The Pre-Function space separating the two ballrooms is perfect for large groups wanting a separate registration area, dedicated buffet, or bar experience. Colonel’s, the spacious boardroom, features a 14-seat conference table and 65” television monitor.
Meeting planners will have a dedicated Event Coordinator to help prepare and guide them through the planning process throughout the execution of their event. “Our sales team has a combined 24 years of experience in diverse areas of hospitality and event planning and we’re excited to lend our creativity to enhance our client’s experience,” expressed Stephanie Gassen, Director of Sales, Cyrus Hotel. “We’ll lead event planning to ensure guests will be both impressed yet comfortable enough to be ready to come back and spend more time with us. We are so excited and fortunate to represent a setting which truly tells a story, both of Topeka and of those who helped build and shape our city’s history. It’s our hope that our Meeting Planners and guests will wish to be a part of the story and continue telling that story with us.”
Staying true to its roots, Cyrus Hotel is excited to partner with local farmers and vendors to provide truly locally-grown ingredients and products Kansans have come to know with great pride.

Colonel's Boardroom
“Our menus are elevated,” Gassen stated, “while still reflecting the true taste of the Midwest, and able to be tailored to fit any occasion.” Cyrus Hotel is proud to have fresh, restaurant quality offerings and an in-house pastry chef for creating some incredible baked goods. “Our dinner rolls have been a delightful surprise to our clients, as well as our decadent desserts, such as banana toffee pudding and mousse cups served in a chocolate shell with fresh berries,” said Gassen.
2019 will be an exciting first year for Cyrus Hotel. “We are thrilled to help create memories in a setting that bridges Topeka’s history throughout our beautiful guestrooms, public spaces, and special event settings,” remarked Gassen, “We wish [for] our guests to leave saying they had a great meeting and phenomenal food, and will return for dinner and drinks in The Weather Room restaurant.”
