The second major expansion of Cadillac Jack's Gaming Resort, pegged at $25 million to $29 million, cleared its first hurdle last week, and Deadwood’s mayor said it could cause other hotel operators to “up their game.”
Infrastructure work for the massive four-story, 108-room Tru Hotel by Hilton is expected to begin next month after the city commission approved $2 million for a tax increment financing, or TIF, district last week. Local governments use TIF to divert future property tax revenue increases toward economic development or public improvement projects.
