The Kimpton Journeyman Hotel, a 158-room boutique hotel located in Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward, has creative team building activities available at the hotel. The hotel is an ideal meetings destination with more than 7,600 square feet of indoor meeting and event space, as well as rooftop spaces available. To create stimulating and exciting team building activities for groups, the Journeyman has a variety of team building ideas and themes: |
- Masterpiece - The Historic Third Ward is Milwaukee's Arts and Fashion District. The dynamic walkable neighborhood hosts the city's largest collection of independently owned theaters, galleries, and boutiques all in a charming historic warehouse setting. Groups can attend a behind the scenes tour of the iconic Milwaukee Art Museum, where the docent will then lead the group in a tour of the exhibitions, followed by a wrap up. The group is then invited to choose their favorite painting and share with each other why it spoke to them.
- Super Hero - Outrageously popular, everyone has a favorite from the classic Batman to the Marvel Ironman & Guardians of the Galaxy. Great for a board retreat ice breaker, each board member is asked to pick a superpower and explain their rational. Later in the day, as a group or individually, attendees then share their powers with each other. Capes, masks, video games, movies and props are on hand to create a playful and unique experience. Groups then compete in creating comic strips, skits, raps, etc. which can focus on the key vision or message of company. Guests can also walk over to the Escape room and work together to solve the challenge using your skillsets to find the clues, and solve the puzzles to escape before the time runs out.
- Beer Yoga - Complement the joy of drinking beer and the mindfulness of yoga in the heart of the beer capital! The goal of this activity is to make a team feel stress-free, relaxed and happy. Includes mat & beer, and can also be paired with a brewery tour or a wine & beer dinner where guests vote on which course pairs better.
- MiIwaukee Public Market Team Building Concepts - At the Milwaukee Public Market, one of America’s best public markets within walking distance from the Journeyman, groups can enjoy cooking classes and other food related events.
- Other popular non-food activities include teams building bird houses with a variety of obscure materials, scavenger hunts that take the teams through the Historic Third Ward neighborhoods, and decorating piñatas complete with a mariachi band followed by a Mexican dinner. Food related team buildings that have been successful:
- "What's in the bag?"- Each team has a bag of groceries that has both traditional and unusual food items and they have 30- 40 minutes to develop a dish with the ingredients.
