Revitalized 364-Key Hotel Supports Jackson Chance Foundation, Juvenile Protective Association and Marwe
St. Jane embraces the arts and culture that defines Chicago, drawing inspiration from the legacy of Jane Addams – a pioneering Chicagoan, civil activist and the first American woman to win a Nobel Peace Prize. This announcement is the beginning of three long-term partnerships thoughtfully designed with the non-profit organizations; more information on the non-profits and initiatives are detailed below.
Every Dollar Spent at St. Jane Gives a Critically Ill Baby More Time with their Family:
The Jackson Chance Foundation (JCF) supports families with children in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) by providing complimentary hospital parking. JCF ensures families can be together during challenging times and alleviates a source of financial stress. A percentage of all revenue from St. Jane and its food, beverage, meeting and event outlets is donated to the foundation. Since its opening in 2018, St. Jane’s support has provided more than 33,000 days of parking to NICU families.
Volunteer Opportunities through St. Jane’s “Better Breaks Program:”
Founded in 1901 by Jane Addams, JPA provides high-quality, in-school therapy and counseling services to children, parents and educators to improve the social and emotional well-being and functioning of vulnerable children so they can reach their fullest potential. St. Jane launches its “Better Breaks Program” to encourage hotel meeting attendees to give back and volunteer during conference downtime in JPA partner schools. JPA invites guests into the classroom to meet local children and engage with them in a fun, lively and educational activity (JPA cannot welcome guests into the therapy room). Organizers can work with St. Jane’s sales team to schedule and facilitate group volunteer participation during their time at the property.
Marwen Students Exhibit Artworks:
Marwen provides free visual arts, college and career programs for young people in grades 6-12 and from Chicago's under-resourced communities. St. Jane will be purchasing artworks, created by Marwen young artists that will be exhibited in 16 of St. Jane’s corner suites.
In addition to these initiatives, JCF, JPA and Marwen will participate in “Lunch & Learn” programs to educate the hotel team on the organizations, their missions and how they can become more involved. Employees will also be given opportunities to volunteer for the three non-profits throughout the calendar year. To round out the partnership, St. Jane will offer complimentary meeting space and hotel rooms, along with hosted board meetings and elevated auction packages for fundraising events.
To coincide with the charity partnership program announcement, St. Jane will introduce a charity rate program, offering all employees of 501C3 nonprofits a 50% discount off the best available rate (minimum rate of $79 per night; approval is subject to 501C3 status confirmation).
