Greenbuild, the world’s largest International Conference and Expo, was held in Chicago’s LEED Certified McCormick Place Nov. 14-16. The McCormick Center is one of nearly 750 LEED-certified buildings in the city that represent more than 233 million gross square feet. |
In addition to showcasing the city’s sustainability, the conference itself had a robust sustainability plan. At last year’s conference in Boston 90.5 percent of waste was diverted on-site—a record level. With Chicago being a sustainability leader, the organizers were excited for the execution of this year’s sustainability plan at the McCormick center.
