Anime Milwaukee (AMKE), Wisconsin’s largest anime and Japanese cultural event, starts Friday, Feb. 15 and runs through Sunday, Feb. 17. AMKE activities are taking place at the Wisconsin Center and Hyatt Regency Milwaukee. The all-ages anime convention offers 24-hour entertainment for the duration of the convention, providing night owls and early birds alike with plenty of fun! This event features popular attractions for the whole family, including: |
- Cosplay Competition Masquerade
- Charity Ball
- Two high-energy, all-night dances led by DJs from around the world
- Cultural programming in association with numerous local Japanese and Asian businesses and educational organizations
- Special guests such as local and international illustrators, writers, and cosplay experts
- Manga Library (children’s programming)
- Cosplay Combat Chess event (children’s programming)
Welcoming more than 10,000 attendees to downtown Milwaukee, the convention is expected to have a $3 million economic impact for the city. All three floors of the Wisconsin Center will be filled with vendors, artists, video game entertainment, programming, over 20 special guests, and more. Connected by skywalk, the Hyatt will host AMKE events as well.
