• Haunted attraction convention As spring flowers begin to bloom, you may not be thinking of ghouls and goblins, but the ‘die hard’ scarers who make up the Haunted Attraction Industry are preparing for the largest Halloween show of its kind, the Midwest Haunters Convention (MHC). The MHC features a tradeshow, education, chartered bus tours, and entertainment for its thousands of attendees. |
You may wonder what education is important to those in the haunting industry. Some of this year’s topics include Scene Lighting, Basics of Animatronics, Must-Do Marketing Tactics, The Theatrics of Fear, and so much more. Everything from getting started and using QuickBooks to ticket sales and marketing, building scary characters, and production for the shows/venues.
Other activities include the Zombiewalk Columbus, MHC Masquerade costume party and costume contest, the Body Art Fashion Show, and the Bloody Mary Monster Makeup Wars Competition, just to name a few.
Participants looking to get the full fear immersion may opt in to the 2-Day Pre-Convention Haunted Bus Tour (May 23-24) which includes admission to nine haunted attractions across Ohio and Michigan. (See detail here: https://registration.haashow.com/events/show/mhc5#PreConventionBusTour)
As you know, there is a convention for every industry, group, and organization. Tell us about different conventions in your area of the Midwest. Contact Charmaine at Editor@MidwestMeetings.com.
