Friends of Hocking Hills State Park will unveil the much-anticipated John Glenn Astronomy Park with a dramatic and eventful evening packed with summer solstice sunset viewing; star gazing and discovering our cosmos.
Summer Solstice; June 21, 2018
6:30 p.m. – Social hour with live saxophone music
7:20 p.m. – Sky diver descends into John Glenn Astronomy Park
7:30 p.m. – Ribbon cutting ceremony
9:06 p.m. – Sunset, followed by star and planetary gazing via JGAP’s powerful telescopes; They’ll be pointed toward the moon and Jupiter, which will be high in the southern sky that night.
