Full Service: When a resort says they’re “full service” they typically mean EVERYTHING service. Resorts are like a small town that has everything you need, but you don’t have to pay the property taxes.
Seclusion: There aren’t many resorts smack dab in the middle of a town. But even if they are, you wouldn’t know it. They usually have a lot of privacy, but without making you feel like a hermit.
The Views: Many resorts are built with the views in mind. Whether it’s from the balcony attached to your room or from the tee-off of the 9th hole, you won’t be disappointed with what your eyes see.
Relax: Like the views, resorts are also designed with relaxation in mind. From the decoration to the activities, you’ll definitely walk away feeling less stressed.
Family Time: You can definitely bring your family to any resort. Whether it’s your spouse, your children, or both, they’ll be able to entertain themselves while you do business and then you can meet up with them after for some quality family time.
The Spa: It’s a spa. Need I say more?
Waterparks: Some resorts have a waterpark. Of course, in the Midwest they are typically only open in the summers (with the exception of indoor waterparks), but they’re fun nonetheless. Catch a tan on a lounge or thrill yourself on a waterslide!
Never Have to Leave: That’s the beauty of resorts. You never have to leave! You don’t have to make a trip to the grocery store or travel 20 miles to the golf course. Resorts have everything, and if they don’t have it, they’ll help you get it!
Options: Because resorts have everything, that means you have options. Options on activities, options on restaurants, even options on relaxing. There’s golf or biking or tennis. There’s Italian cuisine, Pad Thai, or Hawaiian buffet. There’s your balcony, a poolside lounge chair, or a hammock in the middle of a forest. Your options are endless.
Rentals: You don’t have to pack your own kayak or golf cart! Resorts typically have a whole stash of supplies you can rent so that you don’t have to worry about providing your own source of fun.
Airport Shuttle: Flying in? No worries! Most resorts will arrange a ride for you to get to the resort from the airport.
Concierge: Everyone knows that research can be dull and stressful! If you’re looking for something to do outside of the resort, ask the concierge! They’ll typically have a comparison list of all your options, and all you have to do is pick one!
Package Deals: A lot of resorts offer package deals, so that you can get a little somethin’ somethin’ extra on the side at discounted rates!
Catering: Don’t worry about bringing a caterer to the venue! There’s one already there. Make it easy on yourself and pick somewhere that has the resources you need.
Audio/Visual: Same as catering, resort meeting spaces typically have every essential resource you need, such as audio/visual.
Staff: Every resort has fully trained staff there to help 24/7. So everything from set-up to tear-down is hassle free!
Room Service: For when that luxurious bed becomes a little too comfy and you can’t bring yourself to go get food on your own, call room service and have the food brought to you. Perfect for those late night cravings!
Activities: I know that a few activities have been brought up previously in this list, but I’m not sure you understand the extent of available activities at some resorts. I’m talking bowling, fishing, hiking, shooting, golfing, horseback riding, swimming, kayaking, tubing, zip lining, any kind of sport you can think of and the list goes on and on and on. Some resorts literally have their own amusement parks!
Opportunities: Along with activities, resorts can provide opportunities for some people that they would never get the chance at in their day-to-day lives. They are incredible places to hold meetings just from the convenience and adventure they’re able to provide.
The Midwest: We’re in the Midwest! What better reason do you need? The Midwest is a region of this country where every state is unique. The scenery, the people, and the opportunities all make the Midwest an extraordinary place to hold a meeting!
