J. Phillip Allemang: I have been a member for 10 years. I joined for the networking benefits and for the fun. I’ve made many friends, and many are now clients, and I stay involved because it is a way for me to give back. To give back to the organization that I’ve come to really appreciate.
MM: What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced in your career?
JPA: My biggest challenge in my career is when two years ago I decided to open up my own franchise of the Nation’s largest promotional products distributor, and now I own Proforma US Marketing here in Shawnee, KS. I’ve been in the industry for over 20 years, and I was lucky that my clients, all across the Nation, have stayed with me and helped my decision to be a great one. There are challenges in every phase of life, and one can either just roll with the punches or one can step out of a comfort zone and create a new phase, and new life. I couldn’t have done this without friend’s and client’s encouragement, and without guidance from above.
MM: Do you sing in the car?
JPA: I do sing to the “Oldies” in my car, mostly when I’m by myself. I like to turn the volume up, enjoy a good blend of bass and treble, and try to add my charisma to the old songs of the 60s. Ok, I don’t add anything, but I have fun just remembering some of the words!
