Larry Olmsted on USA Today's Travel section put out an interesting piece on Detroit's pizza history and Buddy's restaurant. While most pizza purists will scoff at anything that isn't New York style pizza and only vaguely acknowledge Chicago as another spot, there is a unique heart to Detroit pizza that speaks to the area.
