• Event apps continue to drive success Mobile apps are all the rage, and one of the fastest growing areas of the events and meetings industry. This tool has the power to improve event management, deliver information and content, expand and foster networking, and capture data. And though many organizations have increased their digital budgets to include apps, there are still plenty who have not delved into this end of the proverbial technology pool. CrowdCompass by Cvent and the Event Marketing Institute developed a study in 2015 to quantify how event producers were using and would like to use mobile app technologies and services, in The Momentum of Mobile Event Apps. |
A few findings from the report:
- 60% of the respondents said their sponsors were interested in mobile advertising options instead of print.
- 25% of the industry expected to reduce their total print cost by 65% via apps within two years.
- 44% of attendees on average throughout the industry used mobile apps.
Today, those numbers have increased exponentially. The summer of 2018 will mark 10 years of mobile aptitude on this planet. Facebook® remains the leading app used almost daily by most app users. Social Media, today’s easiest and most used form of networking, is a huge part of why attendees enjoy event apps. Text tools, or messaging platforms, within the app create community. If you are considering an app for your event, consider its overall use. If you invest in an app, it needs to have an integral role in your meeting or event. Look for more than floor plans and schedules by adopting networking, text, and content providing platforms for the best audience engagement.
