Flight requires security and security requires everyone doing as asked to help streamline the process to the best of our ability, for everyone involved. We all know by now that we should have our boarding pass (physical or digital) and our ID out and ready, but are you taking the time to pack sufficiently for security checkpoints? |
If you are traveling alone without a carry on, you may get chosen for express security. But for savvy travelers who don't check bags, just pack smart. Keep laptops in a separate bag or somewhere easy to access. No need to pull out tablets or smartphones. Keep liquids in a baggy on top of your packed bag for easy reach. Attempt to become TSA Pre-Check approved if you are a frequent flyer. With Pre-Check certification, you do not need to remove liquids from bags or take your shoes off for a body scan.
The biggest help is to arrive at the airport early enough to provide yourself reasonable time to get through TSA and to your gate before boarding. Nothing is more stressful that possibly missing an important flight, so do your best to be beyond punctual while traveling.
Most of all, remember everyone traveling is in this together. TSA is doing their job to keep us as safe as possibly and everyone traveling has the right to a polite environment in which to be processed for flying.
